Hi, I’m Fiona!
I grew up in Greenville, North Carolina, and have been attending East Carolina University for the past three years! Under the instruction of Ara Gregorian, Hye-Jin Kim, and Jorge Richter, I have been honing my skills to prepare for graduate school and beyond. My goal is to eventually graduate with a Master’s in Music Theory and Violin Performance and continue giving private instruction. As much as I love Music Theory, I plan to continue to study and teach violin as a vital component of my career.
As a violinist who started at 10 years old through the public school system, I am a very strong believer in making music education accessible. I was not born into a family that was well-versed in classical music, so I am thankful for the opportunities I was given due to outreach programs and concerts. Classical music does not have to be such a complicated, pressuring, and intimidating genre; it is truly for anyone and everyone!
Other than practicing violin, I also enjoy coffee, collecting vinyl records, sewing/crafting, thrift shopping, and playing with my cat, Moe! My long-term boyfriend, Joe, is also a big part of my life- He is an oboist!
